A very good day to you all!
I would like to share my story of buying foreign estate property and my dealing with real estate agencies.
Everything started from a trip to Cyprus. We liked the climate, people, towns, islands, villages… and we had a sharp desire to simply settle down and dwell in a beautiful place with a favorable climate but there was a slight hitch… not everything shaped our hearts as it was!
Then, a year on, we flew to Egypt… that was back in 2002. And that was the moment when everything worked out. We just fell in love with this country, its culture, history; we were amazed by kindliness of the locals, and, of course, by the blue sea and beauty of corals which elated us so much. I think, nowhere in the world you will see such a variety of fishes and sea life… Then we had that crazy idea to buy estate property in Egypt for ourselves but …it was not the right time yet.
Our family continued to visit the Red Sea coast, almost every year. And every time we went with a feeling of coming back home!!! Curiously enough, no matter wherever we were, the ONLY place we always wanted to come back was Egypt!
We returned to our idea of buying property in 2013. Having consulted with our sons, we decided that it was the time for purchase. The choice was conditioned by the following factors: always (!!!!) warm weather, the flight does not take long and the distance is short (comparing to Goa, Thailand, etc., its 3 hours only), the climate was just perfect for us; the locals speak good Russian, i.e. there is no language barrier, tourists are welcomed, prices for food and utility bills are in a marked contrast to ours, and services in the compounds are like those in our business class housing blocks. There were still much more reasons and we started searching the web for real estate agencies, specific features of legislation, documentary procedures, regulations for stay in the country, and so on. With some initial information on hand, we addressed some representative offices of the developers in Russia (basically, in Moscow and St.-Petersburg). The experience was deplorable. We were either offered the properties which we could not afford and naturally, became of not interest for the agencies, or the offer was apparently lacking in condition. Or they offered to make a pre-payment for searching the proposals or to buy a service subscription without any guarantee to work until the final result – they just fudged up and that was discouraging. But we are persistent and we were bound to succeed; anyway, the luck favored us in 2014 when we came across Anastasia Osama and her agency!!!! And it turned out that the first questions we asked were made in August and as soon as in September we already signed a sale and purchase agreement for an apartment in Tiba Resort compound, which is currently under construction!
Now I cannot recall in details how and what our dealing started with but everything went so consistently and with no obstacles that this might seem a miracle! Isn’t it a miracle to receive prompt answers to all our – not always wise – questions? Isn’t it a miracle to receive Nastia’s patience, a good hundreds of times explaining us the purchase procedure? She tolerated our rush from one compound to another and that was a real miracle… In a word, for our real estate agent we were not just the ordinary clients but rather esteemed guests. Everything was explained and spoon-fed to us at any time around the clock with a tremendous patience. Many thanks to her! I am highly convinced that without Anastasia’s attitude we would not buy an apartment by the sea-side!
Nowadays, our partnership is going on, almost no issues arise and if they do, they promptly arrive to the decision or answer! Dear friends, don’t be afraid to change focus of your life if you are guided by a professional. It is much better to think about all of this, lying in a sunlounger by the sunny sea shore or having breakfast in the balcony of your own flat at the Red Sea.
